Hi! I’m Andrew.
I’m a creative director with 20 years of experience leading teams in advertising, nonprofit, and advocacy organizations.
I’m passionate about building diverse teams where everyone feels known and appreciated. Whether in film production, a design studio, or a classroom, I love helping creative people solve complex challenges. I build happy, healthy teams that inspire people to do great work.
As a longtime political organizer, I’ve learned that building relationships and consensus across all levels of an organization is a key to effective leadership. Clear communication, feedback, and deep listening are the foundation for advancing projects further, faster.
At BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), I led a team of 20 through the delivery of thousands of assets annually, balancing BAM’s iconic and experimental visual identity with accessible and direct language to make BAM’s programs welcoming to our neighbors and the wider world.
Previously, as a commercial director at 1stAveMachine, I directed ads for clients like Apple, Facebook, and The New York Times. I also ran my own practice, working with cultural institutions and artists on book designs and collateral, forming long-lasting relationships.
